Things are really looking up in the garden these days!
Practically on a daily basis, we are managing to get a bowl full of tomatoes and string beans ripe for the picking! Mei has learned that the red tomatoes are the ones she is allowed to pluck and are the easiest for her to pluck (as it turns out, LOL) and that the green beans are off limits but when handed to her, she is to put them in her bowl and carry them around the garden. She is a delight in the garden!
I love showing Mei how to do things around the garden, and being so eager to learn all these tasks – she rushes out to the garden as soon as she gets her Minnie Mouse wellies on. I love it!
Here are some pictures of our adventures in the garden! We are saving all the green beans we get in a quart size ziploc bag in the freezer until we have enough to make a meal out of for the five of us … we can’t wait! The tomatoes we have been getting out have been so perfectly vine-ripened and sweeter than any tomato we have managed to find in the store or at the farmer’s market – we love our little garden! In fact, the next place we move to, we are going to make ourselves a bean “forest,” like my friend Lisel has in her garden … it will be magical!

Mei, checking out our beans!
